Take the Challenge on the Chippewa Flowage

It’s a time of organizing tackle boxes, putting fresh line on spools, sharpening hooks, looking over fishing maps, and contacting resorts for accommodations. Some of that planning centers on taking part in any number of fishing tournaments.
You would have to cast far and wide to find a better tournament than the Treeland Challenge, hosted by Treeland Resorts and Pat’s Landing Resort in Hayward. This year’s 40th Annual Challenge will be May 7–10. It will be a catch-and-release for walleye and largemouth bass on the famed Chippewa Flowage. There is also a separate northern pike division.
“Going on 40 years, this tournament has been all about the camaraderie of fishing, bringing old and new fishing buddies together, and of course, the friendly banter between boats!” says the event organizer.
Registration closes on Thursday night. Fishing is set for Friday through Sunday. Your entry fee gets you into both the walleye and bass divisions.
Single and family entries accepted, as well as early entry fee price reductions. For more information, visit treelandresorts.com.
