Take a Ride Back to Snowmobiling’s Early Days with the New-Tom Sno Fleas
Rev up the engine of your vintage sled, and get ready for the New-Tom Sno Fleas Snowmobile Club’s 10th Anniversary Vintage Snowmobile Show & Ride on Saturday, February 29, in Lake Tomahawk.
Dig your old snowsuits out of the back of the closet, join in the fun, and reminisce about the early days of snowmobiling. You’ll also have the opportunity to go for a ride on a groomer.
Equipment Fundraiser
This New-Tom Sno-Fleas equipment fundraiser will be held at Shamrock Pub & Eatery starting at noon. Stop in and take a chance on the many raffles throughout the day. The big-ticket drawing will be at 4 p.m. A chicken dinner will be served from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Vintage Sled Show
The vintage sled show starts at 9 a.m. in the parking area across from Smiley’s Pub and Shamrock Pub & Eatery, along corridor trail #17 (adjacent to Highway 47). There is a $5-per-sled fee with a $15 maximum. There will be awards and trophies for various classes, such as Best of Show, Best Original, Best Restored, and Most Unique.
Vintage Sled Ride
At 12:30 p.m., after the awards presentation, everyone will start up the sleds and go for a short ride through the local club trails. The ride will include a stop at a scenic overlook along the Wisconsin River to enjoy a bonfire, hot dogs, and good company.
World Championship Bogie Toss
During the stop at the scenic overlook, Lizzy T’s Tamarack Tap will host the World Championship Bogie Toss. Competitors show their skill at tossing a bogie wheel into a snowmobile belt placed on the ground. The individual who makes it into the final round and has the best score will have his or her name added to the trophy on display at Lizzy T’s.
