Take a Pizza Party Train Ride with Santa

What better way to experience the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin than taking a scenic train ride with the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad. The train runs Tuesday-Saturday year around along the Namekagon River, which is part of the St. Croix National Park System.

In December, Santa’s Pizza Party is a popular way to celebrate the holiday season with your kids because it combines everyone’s favorite meal with a scenic train ride and a visit with Santa.

Your ticket aboard Santa’s Pizza Party includes the 2-hour train ride, 1/2 pizza per person and your first soda, a visit with Santa in his private car, and a holiday cookie and hot chocolate on the return trip. Family rate includes 2 adults and 3-5 children, 2 pizzas and a soda for each person.

With a variety of train rides offered, there is sure to be something to accommodate you and your guests. Spend the night on the historic Bed & Breakfast car (America’s only moving B&B train), or enjoy an afternoon on the Family Pizza Train.

The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad is proud to be the new home of a special railcar. The Sky Parlour, “Namekagon View,” was built by Budd in 1956 for the famed El Capitan on the Santa Fe railroad. This train operated daily from Chicago to Los Angeles and featured a new concept in passenger trains with its Hi Level cars.

Another favorite ride, the Wine & Cheese train features four samples of Wisconsin wine and award-winning cheese varieties from local cheesemakers. The full bar is available for additional libations. Get your friends and set a date for this special afternoon experience, as you kick back and relax while nature provides the show.

The train depot is located four miles north of Spooner along U.S. 53-63. For more information or reservations (required) call 715-635-3200 or visit spoonertrainride.com.
