Snowmobile Clubs Hard at Work Preparing the County of Trails for a Season of Great Riding

Did you know that Langlade County, Wisconsin, is known as “the County of Trails”? It’s only natural that snowmobilers find amazing riding experiences on the numerous trails here. Langlade County has more than 500 miles of trails, impeccably groomed and maintained by local snowmobile clubs and by Langlade County.

The snowmobile clubs are currently hard at work preparing the trails for a winter of safe riding. Many of Langlade County’s trails sustained wind damage from a severe storm in July 2019. After the storm, volunteers and other work crews participated in an enormous cleanup effort, making a winter of awesome snowmobiling a possibility! But please be patient; as of December 6, the trails are currently closed. While there is plenty of beautiful snow on the ground, the clubs are clearing brush from recent storms and waiting for the swamps to freeze over. Months ahead of great riding will be your reward for your patience!

Your adventures will take you through varied scenes: glacial terrain, farmland, cedar swamps, hardwood forests, banks of small streams, and lakes large and small. Trails also provide access to resorts, restaurants, taverns, service stations, and other valuable Langlade County and City of Antigo businesses.

Here are several of the active snowmobile clubs of Langlade County. In addition to grooming the trails, many of the clubs host regular member meetings, group rides, and special events. Visit the clubs’ websites and Facebook pages—or contact a member—for more information.
