Explore Rhinelander’s Storied Past at Pioneer Park

IMG_1247

Pioneer Park Historical Complex is a fun and educational attraction in the heart of Rhinelander. Learn about many aspects of the history of Rhinelander in Pioneer Park’s seven main attractions: the Logging Museum, Reds Antique Sawmill, the Civilian Conservation Corps barracks, the Rural Schoolhouse Museum, the Fire Truck Barn, the restored Soo Line Depot, and the Antique Outboard & Boating Museum.

Other must-see features in the complex include an impressive model of Rhinelander with a working model railroad running through it and the oldest hodag specimens in the world!

Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated, as they keep the complex open and staffed during the summer.

Pioneer Park is located off of Oneida Avenue, on Martin Lynch Drive. Pioneer Park is open on Tuesdays through Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day and on Fridays and Saturdays after Labor Day until the end of September.

If you visit Pioneer Park on a Saturday, you will also have the opportunity to shop for local produce, meats, cheeses, breads, and support small family farms at the Hodag Farmers’ Market, which takes place on premises.
