The UP of Michigan offers excitement and spills on their eagerly anticipated snowmobile hillclimbs! The weekend of Feb. 5-6 brings the Mid America Snow and Terran Expert Racers (MASTER) organization series to South Range for the Winternationals Snowmobile/Snow Bike Hillclimbs.

Whealkate Bluff has been re-done to make it even more challenging. At last summer’s motorcycle hill climb, only one rider out of 100 attempts made it to the top!

Another February event is the Snowmobile/Snow Bike Hillclimb on Feb. 19-20 at Copper Peak, just north of Ironwood. It’s been 10 years since the MASTERS ran a hillclimb at Copper Peak. It’s been promoted as the largest such event east of the Mississippi.

Later in the month, The Hurley Chamber of Commerce and the White Thunder Riders will be hosting the MASTERS Racing Circuit Top Dog Terra-X races at the Iron County Fairgrounds in Saxon on Saturday, Feb. 26. The top three drivers advance to the 2-sled Semi’s and Finals in each class.
