DESCRIPTION:Copper Peak Snowmobile Hill Climb Returns  IRONWOOD\, MI – After a ten-year hiatus\, the Copper Peak Snowmobile Hillclimb is BACK with a two-day event\, February 19 and 20\, 2022. The goal is simple: make it to the top of the extremely steep Copper Peak hill while zig zagging around gates. This exciting event will send its Pro Stock\, Pro Mod\, and Spirit King of the Hill winners along with sending its top woman\, who captures the Queen of the Hill title\, to the World Championship in Jackson\, Wyoming. The qualifying rounds will take place on Saturday\, February 19th\, along with the Children’s 120 & 250 cc\, Vintage 1\, Vintage II and Junior Finals. Sunday\, February 22nd will feature the final competitions in the Pro Stock\, Pro Mod\, Women’s\, Spirit\, and Snow Bike.

DESCRIPTION:The first Foundation pilot ski event was conducted in 2021 as a ski relay from ABR\, Erwin Township to Ramsey Michigan. Each relay leg was led by a different Board member and included 75 skiers. \nThis is a unique opportunity to ski 4 trail systems setting your own course as far or as short as you like. You can form your own relay team of family and friends OR ski your course by yourself (team of one) or with buddies. Registration is simple – team captains email the Foundation with the name of your team\, members names and planned course route. \n\nThe event is a fun family format – not a  timed race.

Highlights so far include: \n\n\n30K SISU & 15K Heikki Lunta ski races \n\n\n5K Hauska Hiihto Fun Ski \n\n\nWidened start area \n\n\nNew “Finnish” Line in downtown Ironwood’s new City Square \n\n\nThe SISU race course begins at ABR Trails and ends in downtown Ironwood. Racers can expect well groomed trails that pass through forested landscapes\, ups and downs among rocky outcrops\, gentle sections along the Montreal River and a former railroad grade\, and a few twists and turns through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park. 2022 will feature our new “Finnish” line in the Downtown City Square\, Ironwood’s newest park\, completed in the Fall of 2021. Racing centers around our signature 30K SISU\, along with the 15K Heikki Lunta and the 5K Hauska Hiihto Fun Ski.
